Gledhill PulsaCoil 180L Stainless

The PulsaCoil Stainless 180 Litre is a thermal storage cylinder constructed by cylinder expert Gledhill from highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel that provides mains pressure hot water from off-peak electricity. It is designed specifically for use in apartments.

The PulsaCoil Stainless is an open-vented thermal store that doesn’t need any discharge piping because it doesn’t need a pressure and temperature relief valve. As a result, it satisfies the Part G Building Regulations requirement that forbids connecting a discharge pipe from an unvented cylinder into a soil stack.

A very effective plate heat exchanger provides hot water for the home. With the addition of the ErP-ready pump, new PCB, software, and flow sensor, the reaction time of the hot water supply has been reduced by up to 75%. When hot water is required, the cold water from the mains is heated instantly as it passes through the heat exchanger and is provided to the taps. The risk of legionella is eliminated by this approach of producing hot water overall. Installation and ongoing maintenance are made simple by the creative build.

The PulsaCoil Stainless has additional benefits, such as the fact that the immersion components are always submerged in the same primary water, which is never changed and prevents scaling even in locations with hard water. The cylinder’s ability to use the off-peak electrical source lowers operating costs for the homeowner.

As with an unvented cylinder, Pulsacoil Stainless thermal reserves do not require any yearly maintenance.

Water Hardness and Scale Treatment

In areas where water hardness exceeds 200 parts per million (ppm), it is the responsibility of the homeowner to ensure appropriate treatment of the incoming cold mains water supply to prevent scale build-up. This may include the installation of a water softener or other suitable scale-inhibiting device. Failure to install adequate water treatment where required may result in the accumulation of limescale within the system, which can impair performance and efficiency. Please note that insufficient water treatment in hard water areas may invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty on the boiler and associated components.
